Atop a grape lined plateau tucked in the Santa Ynez Valley, an informal high school reunion ensues. Joanna Beatrice (left) upholsterer and founder of Bea Furnishings, and Chase Carhartt (right) winemaker at the family built Carhartt Vineyard, sit upon manifested ambitions found in the form of custom built and upholstered chairs created by Joanna for the tasting room that will deliver the fruits of Chase’s finely tuned labor. The magic piece? These chairs are skinned with genuine Carhartt duck canvas, a material created by Chase’s great, great grandfather, Hamilton Carhartt. A material in my opinion that is like a fine wine; it only gets better with time.
